Program Overview

The Perkins Entrepreneurship Training and Leadership Institute provides an annual Internship opportunity to qualified business education students to study entrepreneurship education from a practical viewpoint. Students will have the opportunity to obtain first hand knowledge of how to start, grow, and manage a small business through specific learning outcomes taught by Perkins Management Services Company Chairman, President, and CEO Nicholas M. Perkins. The 7 day Summer Internship is designed to provide students with a first hand view of the importance of wealth and job creation through the development of sustainable businesses. Specific learning outcomes will target.

Internship Opportunity

Eligible Areas:

The PETLDI is open to Sophmore and Junior business majors.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be 18 years of age

• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents

Application Evaluation:

Applications will be evaluated based on:

• GPA

• Relevance of completed courses in business curriculum

• Writing skills

• Interest in starting or expanding a business

• Two Letters of Recommendation

All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to age, ancestry, citizenship, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, national origin, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status as long as they have meet the eligibility criteria outlined above. All applicants will receive timely notification of status.

Funding:

Most participants are funded by PMSC through scholarship/internship paid to college during academic year for this purpose. The PETLDI program will fully cover the costs of participation  including travel, food, housing, and materials.
